For bookings deposited before
January 31 2010 (for any
2010 departure date) the charter price includes:
a Private, ½ day Wine Tasting Tour of the Sancerre region with
your Captain as Personal Guide in the barge’s own vehicle*
OR
a 4 course
Gourmet Dinner served on-board for the entire party on ONE
evening of the cruise prepared by Hannah (former Chef
extraordinaire from “Meanderer” of course!) with all wines and
full table service included*
*We would recommend which day of the cruise is the most suitable
for the guests to take up their choice of offer.
SNCF have just
published their timetable until July 2010 so here (below) are the
most obvious train times for guests to get from Paris to Montargis
(these may change for August onwards but only by minutes and we will
be able to provide the new timetable well before guests travel in
that period).
Guests will be
collected from Montargis station and transferred to the barge within
the cruise price. To make life much easier for passengers coming to
us from central Paris/CDG/Orly/Eurostar Terminal, we have created a
fully researched fact sheet of the many options on how to get to us
(attached). We personally did the trip from Charles de Gaulle by
train a couple of weeks ago and found it very straightforward and
quick. If passengers felt they did not want tackle it on public
transport, there are other options such as one way car hire or taxi
(we have just negotiated new, lower rates for taxis which are
detailed on the sheet). Do not hesitate to pass these details on to
anyone who wants to know exactly how they might get to the barge.
Trains from Paris
to Montargis that we can meet for pick up: 15.05
departure, arriving at 16.28; 16.01
departure, arriving at 17.33
Trains from Montargis to Paris for departure drop off:
08.50 departure, arriving at 09.45*; 09.15
departure, arriving at 10.41; 10.11 departure, arriving
at 11.41
*All trains shown are from/to Paris Gare de Lyon station except the
08.50 from Montargis to Paris which goes to Paris Bercy station.
Another great
option for guests would be to hire a car at the airport or in Paris
and bring it with them for the week. They can arrive straight to
the barge and we’d move the car with them daily so they always have
the use of it for side trips and shopping.
