routes, you will need 2 maps. For example for the one-way trip Pontailler-sur-Saône/Digoin,
2 maps are necessary : the Centre Canal and the Saône.
Bow propeller: Some boats have a bow propeller. It is a small propeller
in the stem of the boat which helps to steer laterally the bow of the
boat. It makes manoeuvre easier. This bow propeller makes manoeuvre
easier. Nevertheless you need to use it carefully mainly in canals (mud
and stones can be sucked up along the canal sides). In case of breakdown
during the cruise, it is often impossible to repair (a crane is often
necessary to fix it). The bow propeller is an option to be paid on the
base and has to be ordered when booking the boat because it does not
exist on every boat. Price : € 50 (this option is free on tarpon
49 and L49). In the case of a breakdown, you can only be refunded with
the amount of the option.

a bicycle, you will get an extra seat. Do not forget to order it before
your departure.
Cancellation insurance
:
The cancellation insurance enables you to get back the amount paid for
the booking in certain circumstances (see general conditions of hire).
Insurance: the boats of the whole fleet are insured against every risk.
However we hope that you will take care of the boat and its equipment.
The insurance include the damage excess of the boat ; regarding this,
you will have to leave a security deposit before boarding. The boat
insurance does not cover the tenant and its crew, their liabilities
in respect of third parties and their personal belongings. When you
book the boat, you can subscribe a complementary insurance that covers
the following risks:
PACK CROISIERE INSURANCE : cruise stopping, screw breaking, cycling,
body damages, and ½ guarantee buyback. Price: € 54 per week
and per boat.
PACK CROISIERE PLUS INSURANCE: covers the same things as above but with
a total guarantee buyback. Price : € 82.
Even if insurance is subscribed, a security deposit has to be left.
Both insurance forms are part of a general contract whose copy can be
sent you on request.
Locks
Locks are free of charge in France. Locks are usually open everyday
from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and sometimes longer. Locks can be closed for
special events or bank holidays such as Easter, Whit Sunday, 1. May
or 14. July. Opening hours can change according to the season. Please
ask your travel agent for information.
Floods
Some rivers can be subject to a sudden rise in the level of water. Should
this happen, we might have to change your departure point or ask you
only to cruise on canals. These changes will not be considered as reasons
for cancelling the cruise.
Licence
Steering a boat is not very difficult. The base staff will spend as
much time as you need to teach you to steer and moor the boat.
If you do not have a licence to drive a boat, you will be given a temporary
one to enable you to drive as long as you have booked the boat. That
is called “carte de plaisance”.
Technical assistance
Despite all the care given to our boats, mechanics can be temperamental.
In case of a breakdown, technical assistance is available 7 days a week.
Service included
in the renting price
We offer full service, i.e. complete bed linen (sheets as well as blankets
or duvets), household linen (one towel per head) and a fully equipped

and all the things needed to live on board (food, toilet case, clothes,
etc.).
Water and gas
The water tank is full when you take the boat. Gas for cooking and heating
is supplied as long as you cruise.
